One of my favorite websites is PolitiFact.com. They are a Pulitzer prize winning publication that basically looks at the messages our political leaders put out to the media and verfies the accuracy of these messages and statements.
I know you don't live in a cave because you found my tiny corner of the internets. So, it's likely you know Sarah Palin was using her HandPrompter™ again. During a segment on the republican propoganda channel - Fox News - Chris Wallace noticed Palin had something written on her hand. When asked, her response:
"$3.8 trillion, next 10 years, so I didn't say 3.7 and then get dinged, you know, by the liberals saying I didn't know what I was talking about."
What she was referring to of course, was her claim that when Barack HUSSEIN Obama allows the Bush tax cuts to expire, we would see the biggest tax increase in history.
As usual, she is full of shit. She is walkin' and talkin' proof of whenever a tea bagger talks, another teacher cries. She got the $3.8 trillion right. The problem is, her entire point is completely false on two counts:
First, nobody is talking about letting all of Bush's tax cuts expire. The Dems are proposing to extend the tax cut for individuals making less than $200K/yer and couples making less than $250K/yr. You would have allow all tax cuts to expire to add up to Palin's figure, but nobody but her has suggested this will happen.
But here's the kicker - even if all tax cuts expired and we saw a tax increase of $3.7...errr...I don't want to get dinged...$3.8 trillion, it still wouldn't be the biggest tax hike in history. Who holds that record? Wait for it...yes, St. Ronnie himself - Ronald Reagan.
You can't make this stuff up.
