Well, At least some of them anyway.
You see, he got on the radio this afternoon and taught us - from the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies - that liberals don't like America. In fact, many downright hate it. He reconciles this premise by pointing a finger at Barack HUSSEIN Obama - a classic example of someone who does not like America or view America like the rest of America does.
I spent four years in the United States Marine Corps. I was stationed at New River Air Station in Jacksonville, North Carolina as an avionics technician. Back then, I didn't pay much attention to politics, but I certainly leaned to the political right. However, not all of my fellow servicemen and women did. In my opinion (I have no scientific way to back this up), it was about 80-20 - 80% conservative & 20% liberal. Many of the officers were liberal - probably due to college where universities lean heavily left. Almost all the women were liberal. A lot of my enlisted friends were liberal just because that was part of their belief system.
Fast forward to today - one of my nephews is in the USMC stationed at Camp Lajeune in Jacksonville, NC. He's a liberal - even says so on his Facebook page. When I look at his friends list consisting of many servicemen and women, same thing - plenty of liberals to be found.
Limbaugh thinks these people do not like America. How can he claim to support our troops when in reality, he only supports our conservative troops. To Limbaugh's credit, he joins the company of all the propagandists - Hannity, Levin, Savage, yadda yadda yadda.
Clearly, I am only attempting to make a point. Nobody but a non-intellectually curious BushBot could take this point seriously. But in using these broad strokes, he cannot assume exceptions. After all, these people are the kings of black and white with no shades of gray.
Personally, I do not agree with liberal ideology. That's part of the reason I listen to Rush and Hannity, watch Fox, etc. But that doesn't make me right or them wrong - it's a simple political disagreement. And it certainly doesn't mean they think less of America than I do.
So, how in the world can this type of talk be helpful? If he loved this country as much as he says he does, wouldn't he want success at any cost? Unfortunately, he doesn't - he peddles failure and pessimism. If Rachel Maddow or Olbermann were to talk down the economy like this clown does, those hypocritical bastards would be calling foul.
It's politics over principle. If you are serving in our armed forces and liberal, the propagandists do not support you. Only conservative troops are worthy of their support.
Hey, don't shoot the messenger - I'm only showing you one point of many where that paintbrush reaches.
